I Moved, I Saw, I Have Not Yet Conquered...

I have been utterly absorbed in my move.

Life has revolved around packing tape, cardboard boxes, lost utility knives, and furniture assembly.

Throw in a little falling-down-the-stairs action and chasing-the-dog-up-slippery-rocks-while-too-pregnant action, and you've got yourself my existence since the start of February.

I had sort of felt invigorated and ready to write lots again after you and I had that chat about my not being sure of what to write about. Then the move came and bitch-slapped me onto my (growing) ass.

The new house has stairs. Lots of them. Some more slippery than others. But at least my glutes are finally getting some exercise (unless eating ice cream bars counts as ass exercises? No?)

I had taken lots of pictures of random things to share with you, but now all I can focus on is the 1,405 loads of laundry that need to be done to wash the musty smell of two houses ago out, along with the moldy death smell of the last house. I can set the load up with my eyes closed, source the Tide and the Borax, and haul shit up and down two full flights like a champ.

Unrelated - don't try to run down stairs with your eyes closed.

Oh, right, and I'm not supposed to be lifting anything at all.

Anyway, just felt the need to assure you all once again that I am still alive, just terribly distracted and terribly tired.

What's new with you?
Know of any ice-cream related ass exercises you'd care to share? You know, ones that involve eating the ice cream?

  1. Yes, though it is an advanced yoga move, and being pregnant probably isn't going to help. Lie on back, place ice cream nestled into boobs. Curl legs up with spoon trapped in knees. Use muscles in legs and butt to manipulate spoon, no hands allowed. Eat all the ice cream you can. For super advanced yogis, use toes to hold spoon.

    1. @Keith - This does sound interesting, but I'm betting that if shoe tying is impossible as it is already, that ice cream manipulation of this sort may be too advanced for me.

Maybe I'll try it. You'll know if the next few posts are hospital related, lol.

  2. Ugh.. my last place was incredibly damp and mildewy so I feel your pain on the 'Washing every last damn thing that comes into the house' thing.

That being said.. BE CAREFUL! Slippery stairs are scary :-(

    1. @Yandie, Goddess of Pickles. - Thanks, I am trying. The stairs to the lower level are evil. They keep trying to claim me. If I lose even an ounce of focus on them, I waver.

And I KNOW about the mildew and laundry! GAH! Should have invested in Tide stock!

    1. @Miss CB - I feel so gross, I've given up on all hope of exercise it seems. But let me know if you find anything that burns calories and tones while I sleep. ;)

    1. @Mynx - You know, in all honesty I am not getting enough calcium and I don't drink milk, so maybe it isn't all bad, right?

I know... I need to stop lifting most things. Pretty much anything results in stomach pain now. I am SUCH a WUSS!

  6. Wait, you mean inhaling ice cream bars DOESN'T count as exercise? Dammit! Although now I understand what I'm doing wrong...

If I do 50 curls with my pint of Chubby Hubby before I eat it, does that count? Or at least negate the calories I'm about to eat?

    1. @nagzilla - I'd say that has to count for something... it's more than I do. But I think for maximum benefit, you need to buy one of those ice-cream store-sized tubs of ice cream. THAT'LL burn yer calories.

  7. I can't even run down the stairs with my eyes open.

    1. @thoughtsappear.com - I can't even run any more. :( And I firmly believe all stairs are evil now!
