Like any youthful, popular, savvy, connected young married woman in her 30s, I am:
That's what all the cool kids are doing these days, right?
On a Saturday night?
RIGHT? RIGHT???
In need of a decent shower, seriously. Like, seriously, really.
Whatever... behold the magic of boredom and loneliness!!!
Check this shit out:
Of ALLLLL the people that play Rock Band, (mind you, some songs I had to buy, but still), I've placed in the top 6, beyotches.
ON EXPERT VOCALS.
Suck my smelly pits, competitors!!
I submit the following into evidence (I am Stephaniescooby):
And you may have remembered long ago when I held the #1 spot for the Canadian Band, The Tragically Hip on Rock Band 3 in this post back here. But, since then, I had been knocked off my thrown down to second place.
Well not tonight folks. Tonight *I* was so hip it was tragic. (Wow. That was truly awful. Even for me.)
THE CROWN IS MINE ONCE AGAIN!!!
Shania Twain, Third Eye Blind, Alanis Morissette and The Tragically Hip are all own-able. For now. I wish I could remember the other ones I did well on, but my memory is shot.
Okay, that's all. I just had to share this with someone since the Hubs is out playing poker.
If anyone out there plays RockBand, you should add me as an online friend in your system, because clearly I need some friends, people!!

Pin It Now!
- sitting home alone
- on a Saturday night
- in my pajamas
- playing Rock Band 3 in the freezing cold basement (while the puppy tries to sleep and block out my voice in her head)
- all by myself (besides the dogs)
- with a laundry room full of clean cloth items
- an upstairs hallway filled with piles of give away blankets and pillows to sort through
- a linen closet to re-organize and re-stock
- a major buzz from a bottle of Dr. Pepper

hey my Saturday night was spent with a glass of wine and being excited because I got to chat to my "other" hubby on-line while the real hubby was over at friends enjoying their spa. I don't even have rock band
ReplyDelete@Mynx - I bet you smelled better, though. ;)
DeleteI dont even have a hubby ...hehehe...but thanks for reminding me I need to shower!
ReplyDelete@Possum - The showering is really optional. Even the hair washing.
DeleteOh yes, Saturday afternoon and my towels and tighty-whiteys are all clean and iron-ready.
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiosity, what did you sing to New Husband at your wedding? :)
@Chris - Do tell - you iron your towels and undies?? I sang James Morrison's "You Make It Real".
Delete(www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRxccy-zcJ8)
I'd only heard it earlier that year, but the lyrics were pretty much perfect. I meant to sub out 'arrogance' with 'sadness' but think I flubbed it up.
Um, yeah. My Mom always ironed those "for extra disinfection purposes". It's just one of those things that you don't question but accept and move on. I don't have to do it now that I'm out of the family house, but she managed to instill a germaphobic reflex that I can't shake anymore :) Europe is weird.
DeleteThe song is wonderful. I'm amazed that you were able to sing in front of a crowd with all the emotions of your wedding day. I would have made an embarrassment of myself by choking and crying and who-knows-what.
I just fed the cat and decided to read for a minute before going back to bed. For someone as young and hip as you, I thought the title was "rockbitch is my band". Imagine my disappointment.
ReplyDelete@Keith - Thanks for the chuckle... that was great. Makes me WANT to start a band called Rockbitch. I wish I could be in a cover band. I'd love it.
DeleteHoly crap. That's actually amazing. (No, really. I'm amazed.) Congratulations on this huge achievement.
ReplyDelete@Stephanie - My sarcasm detection is poor when it comes to blog comments, so I'll say thanks and hope you aren't laughing at me. lol.
DeleteI moved up a spot on "Head Over Feet"!
LOL too funny. I have never played the game once. Tragically my hand eye coordination for any kind of gaming is not a skill I have nor do I want to torture myself to acquire. Kudos to you though for rocking!! I am single in my early 30's and way too cool to spend my friday nights drinking alone and having a half naked dance party in my room...but that is totally what I did! lol.
ReplyDelete@According to Jewels - You should try the game, for real. It's a lot of fun, especially alone because you can belt it out and there's no one to mock you! All you do is sing into the microphone... no real coordination necessary (trust me, otherwise I would have injured myself by now).
DeleteKudos to the half naked dance party!! I need one of those, too!
Thanks lot for this useful article, nice post
ReplyDeleteI've always thought you were a great singer....now do you believe me???....lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats on proving it and making the top 6!!
@Betty Bo - There are two other #6s and I moved up to #5 for Alanis. Still think it's kind of luck. ;)
DeleteYou pick good songs! I love me some Third Eye Blind and Alanis. I spent my saturday on the couch, so you'll get no judgment from me...
ReplyDelete@Gia - My couch and my ass have a love affair. ;)
DeleteFantastic! When the grandkids got Rock Band for Xmas years ago I jumped right in. It isn't easy. Good for you! To me, that is a heck of a Saturday night.
ReplyDelete@Belle - You're so positive and sweet. Thanks! You should get that game out and play again with the grandkids!
DeleteThose are the things I do on Friday AND Saturday nights! It IS the cool thing to do. Wat system do you play on?? Tell me it's 360. =]
ReplyDelete@Michael - Unfortunately, I have Wii, which means I can't pull forward songs or anything. Can people with different game systems still find each other online, or can you only match up with others with the same system?
DeleteAnd again, thanks for letting me know IT IS THE COOL THING TO DO!! lol.
Oh yeah, we have Rock Band! I think we are on Xbox. Hopefully the Xbox can cross-pollinate with Wii. I'll try to get DH to add you the next time we play. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe played RB again tonight. Looks like Xbox doesn't talk to Wii. Bummer. :-(
